Gashaw Kachano
I am social anthropologist who has rich experience of writing article
I studied anthropology for my BA at the University of Gondar, and during my stay, I developed a particular interest in learning and exploring human social life. The course that I took for my undergraduate studies has acquainted me with basic anthropological concepts, including economic anthropology, and the research methods and approaches that are used to study culture, social life, livelihood, social problems, and issues of development. I undertook an MA in social anthropology at Hawassa University from 2018–2020. From the course, I obtained a deeper and more advanced understanding of ethnography as well as additional research methods that have been used to study human culture and social life.
After graduating from Hawassa University, I joined a research institute named the Institute of Culture and Language Research at Arba Minch University. The institute intends to research and document the languages and cultures of south-west Ethiopia. This has given me the opportunity to continue my research interests. The institute has provided me with relevant training on research ethics, qualitative and quantitative data gathering, and analysis techniques. Despite this, I have engaged in conducting research and organizing national and international symposiums. I have immense experience working in multidisciplinary collaborative teams, which might help me in my career.
I have good experience in collecting, managing, manipulating, and analyzing data. I also have experience writing research-based articles, and recently, two of my research articles were published as preprinted versions in an open journal of social science. I love writing original content that is supported with evidence.
